Wessex Archaeology test trenches evident in google aerial photos
Tom Goskar of [2] Wessex Archaeology (exemplars of online archaeology) points out that some of their test trenches (see the scars at the bottom of the image) are evident in [3] Google map’s aerial photographs. The location of such test trenches used to be largely recorded only in the project archives and final reports - now this information is seeping out into publicly held/available datasets.
