Burnt mounds as sites for slaughter, butchery and food processing

As part of an ongoing engagement with the interpretation of burnt mounds/fulachta fiadh we gave a lecture to the NRA 2009 Seminar where we outlined a number of tests for the hypothesis that these sites were predominantly used in the slaughter, butchery and processing of meat, blood, fat and hide products.
