Group of Bronze Age pits, post-holes and stake-holes

This report comprises the final excavation report for a prehistoric settlement site found at Mackney, Co. Galway during archaeological testing within the lands acquired for the new N6 Galway to Ballinasloe dual carriageway road scheme. The site comprised a large hearth, a layer of burnt soil, 13 pits and five post-holes. Charcoal from the site yielded two Middle to Late Bronze Age radiocarbon dates.
