Archaeological Excavation Report

Enclosure

The excavation at Clynoe revealed the western arc of a small ditched enclosure, previously classified as a  ringfort (RMP OF046-013). The earthwork had been truncated on the western side by the construction of a 3rd class road and on the southern and eastern sides by a farm yard and farm access road. No radiocarbon date was obtained for the site as the charcoal was contaminated and no artefacts were recovered.
