10-10.30 Post 1700 ‘Past .. Present …Future’, Mary Sleeman
Mary Sleeman is currently the County Archaeologist for Cork. Early in her career she worked on the Cork Archaeological Survey (UCC) where she developed a keen interest later post medieval archaeology. In 2000 she was involved in the production of the educational resources ‘It’s about time 1 & 2’ (see www.itsabouttime.ie).
10.30-11 Survey and recording of industrial archaeological sites, Dr Colin Rynne
Dr Colin Rynne is senior lecturer at UCC. He has published widely on water power in medieval Ireland and Europe and on the post-medieval and industrial archaeology of Ireland. His research interests include medieval agriculture, medieval and post-medieval iron working in Ireland and Irish industrial archaeology.
11-11.30 Excavating and Recording Post-Medieval Archaeology in Ireland, Frank Coyne
Frank Coyne, a licensed archaeologist, and has almost twenty years experience in archaeology. Frank currently holds the secretary’s position for the Irish Post-Medieval Archaeology Group, and has published a monograph on the excavation of post-medieval structures at Killybegs, co. Donegal, and recently published on the excavation of 17th century timber framed house in Ennis co. Clare

12-12.30 Industrial Communities- housing and social spaces in the industrial era, Dr Elena Turk
Dr Elena Turk is a recent graduate from University College Cork, and now works as a consultant buildings archaeologist. Her research interests include workers’ housing, industrial landscapes, institutionalisation, and the social archaeology of the industrial period.
12.30-1 Finding post-medieval underwater archaeology - without getting wet, Dr Connie Kelleher
Dr. Connie Kelleher is an underwater archaeologist with the State Underwater Archaeology Unit, Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht.

Nick Brannon has archaeologically investigated the Ulster Plantation for three decades.
2.30-3 Some source materials for post-medieval archaeology, Tracy Collins
Tracy Collins is company director of Aegis Archaeology, Board member of IAI and chair of Irish post medieval archaeology group IPMAG.
3-3.30 Commemoration and Archaeology, Franc Myles
Franc Myles runs Archaeology & Built Heritage and specialises in the more recent archaeology of urban landscapes.
3.30-4 The Forgotten Archaeology of the Decade of Commemorations- Opportunities for Archaeologists, Damian Sheils
Damian Shiels is a Conflict Archaeologist and Director of Rubicon Heritage Services Ltd. A former curator with the military collections in the National Museum of Ireland, he has published and lectured nationally and internationally on Irish conflict archaeology, including on the period covered by the decade of commemorations.
