Fulachta Fiadh; Thoughts after ten years of excavation, WAC6 Lecture

Last July2008 we presented a lecture to the World Archaeological Congress in Dublin on our current thinking regarding fulachta fiadh or burnt mounds - the main theme of our talk was that enough of these sites have now been excavated for us to be able to formulate solid hypotheses for their use and function and that it is no longer sufficient to consider these sites the ‘kitchen sink’ of the Bronze Age.
