The slave jail that became a university

We normally save useful links to a delicious tag library but this mapping project at Richmond university has stopped us in our tracks. Three-dimensional models are laid over historic maps and the geography of mid-nineteenth century slave business in Richmond is presented. In one case, Richard Lumpkin’s slave jail became a school and ultimately the Virginia Union University.
