This entry is part 1 of 30 in the Issue 04Two recent publications on Early Neolithic farmers have been published, one at the popular National Geographic and the other at the accelerated peer reviewed online journal PlosOne. Both conclude, similarly, that new populations brought farming into Europe, rather than new ideas spreading into the established hunter-gatherer populations. How that might have worked in ‘peripheral’ Ireland will be interesting to assess.
