Bronze Age hearth, pits & post-medieval ditches

This report comprises the final excavation report for a site found at Mackney, Co. Galway, during archaeological testing within the lands acquired for the new N6 Galway to Ballinasloe dual carriageway road scheme. The site comprised both prehistoric and post-medieval features, including a small isolated hearth, pits and a post-hole and a series of linear features. Charcoal from the site yielded two Middle to Late Bronze Age radiocarbon dates.
