Spade Mill and Lime Kiln

This report comprises the final excavation report for a spade mill and lime kiln excavated at Coololla, Ballinasloe, Co. Galway. The site was excavated as part of the new N6 Galway to Ballinasloe road scheme and it was found during archaeological testing within the lands acquired for the new N6 Galway to Ballinasloe dual carriageway road scheme. The site included two areas of excavation: a post-medieval spade mill was excavated in Area 1 and a post-medieval lime kiln was excavated in Area 2.
