Burnt mound

This report comprises the final excavation report for a burnt mound found at Cooltymurraghy, Co. Galway during archaeological testing within the lands acquired for the new N6 Galway to Ballinasloe dual carriageway road. The site comprised a spread of burnt mound material and a later water channel. Charcoal from the mound yielded an Early Bronze Age radiocarbon date.
